Discouraged

Well, working out seems to be going pretty well. I'm going in the morning four times a week and then trying to go Wednesday nights. However, I'm not seeing the results I would like too! It's so frustrating! When I was doing weight-watchers before, every week I weighed in I lost about five pounds. Even with the eating better and working out, it doesn't seem like I'm really losing anything. Ugh! So, I guess I have to step it up a little. I'll continue to work out in the morning, but I'm also going to start running at night. It will get me in shape faster, plus I love going running with Alan. I can't really ask him to go with me right now as he's training for the Ogden marathon, but soon. I'm also going to change my eating habits a little. I'm going to eat my bigger meals for breakfast and lunch and then at night something really small. I'm hoping with the combination of changes things will speed up. Here's hoping......

First weigh-in

This week marks my first weigh-in week, oh the joys. Unfortunately, our scale at home isn't usable as the batteries died in it. So, I tried the one at work. SOOOO not a good idea! It's off several pounds and it didn't matter how many times or when I weighed myself, it was always the same number. So, I'm going to change my weigh-in days to Friday morning. That will give me enough time to get some new batteries and hit the scale. Plus, so much better than trying to weigh-in on Tuesday, especially if I cheated over the weekend!

Here's to the pain!

So, wow, what happened with my last post? That was what, February 8th and it's now April 1st. Hmm.....not doing too good on the whole getting motivated thing! But, you'll be happy to know that I started going back to the gym on Tuesday. Both of my sister-in-laws go to Lady Fitness, so I thought, why not? I go more for the classes than anything else. Tuesday we went to PumpFx which is a weight-lifting class. Holy cow am I out of shape! I started getting kind of sore the middle of Tuesday and woke up Wednesday in some pain. But, I pushed through and went to a step class this morning. Bad idea! It's been years since I've taken a step class and the one we went to today was NOT for beginners! So, about a half hour into the class I ended up leaving and going to work out on the machines and the treadmill. They have beginner classes on Tuesday nights....might have to hit one of those up, first. So, now as I'm sitting here typing, I'm in even more pain. It's a good pain, means I'm working muscles that haven't been worked forever. But, it's still pain. Popped some ibuprofen, so hopefully that will kick in soon! I've also started doing weight-watchers again and cutting out soda/caffeine completely. I think the eating right is going to be harder than doing the work-out! I was STARVING most of yesterday. This morning I had some oatmeal for breakfast and am doing a little better. But, I'm excited because it's almost snack time! I LOVE snack time! Hopefully a combo of eating better and working out will soon pay off. I also hope it doesn't take me too long before I stop being so sore after workouts! Here's to the pain!
